THE ROLE OF CORPORATE UNIVERSITIES AS A LEARNING STRATEGY TO STRENGTHEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION (A CASE STUDY OF PT. KORINDO GROUP)

Abstract


The dynamic business environment requires organizations to strengthen their adaptive capacity, learning systems, and innovation capabilities in order to maintain long-term competitiveness. This qualitative research employing a case study design aims to analyze the role of Corporate University (CorpU) as a learning strategy in strengthening sustainable innovation at PT. Korindo Group through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that Corporate University plays a strategic role in developing a learning culture, enhancing human resource competencies, improving adaptability, and supporting sustainable innovation through the integration of sustainability values. In addition, Corporate University contributes to strengthening the organization’s dynamic capability through the processes of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring in order to support sustainable transformation. Nevertheless, its implementation still faces several challenges, including organizational cultural readiness, integration across business units, digital transformation of learning, and alignment between learning programs and the company’s strategic agenda. This study provides theoretical contributions to the studies of Corporate University, Strategic Human Resource Development, Learning Organization, and Sustainable Innovation within the context of natural resource-based companies in Indonesia.
